Mayweather definitely earned a ton during his boxing career (over $1 billion!), but his flashy personality might make his wealth seem even bigger than it is. So, a bit of both - he’s rich, but the showmanship adds to the hype.

He is both at once. He received enormous payoffs from his victories against Pacquiao and, most recently, Conor McGregor. He is the best defensive fighter I have ever seen, like it or not.
